Hello Players. The recent news that AdeptiCon 2020 is canceled also means that the three World Championships for Star Wars Armada, Imperial Assault and Legion have been canceled; along with the KeyForge Vault Tour, X-Wing System Open and L5R Kotei.
We will be evaluating the situation, talking with our North American events partners Yeti Gaming, and letting players know more about our plans for these events moving forwards.
The much anticipated AdeptiCon came, and boy, what a loaded weekend. We got Clones, we got droids, we got rolly bois… we got General Grievous and his cape (or not… your call!). We also had two highly competitive Star Wars: Legion tournaments, in the Last Chance Qualifier and the High Command Invitational.
I will hit both of these in detail once the data has been parsed, and write more about my experience generally. However, I know the masses are always clamoring for the lists, so I wanted to briefly present the top 8 from High Command. Each of these gents won an invite to the first ever Legion Worlds at FFG Headquarters in Minnesota.
Adepticon 2019 was the first High Command Invitational, which was the only way to get invited to the first Star Wars: Legion World Championship. Worlds will be held in June, and myself and Nick Freeman will both be in attendance. 3 Imperial players and 5 Rebels players moved on to Worlds, so we’ll see if they all play the same factions in Minnesota!
AdeptiCon was a huge success, and an enjoyable follow-up to the Last Vegas Open. This was the first major this year I have been able to play in, so I knew I had to make every die roll count. My goal for the weekend was to make it into High Command, and I barely did, taking the last spot based on Strength of Schedule. My only LCQ loss was to Chris Cook, and because he went 4-0 I was able to overcome the other 3-1’s and sneak into High Command. To just barely squeak into High Command didn’t really make me confident going into the second day of play, but my overall results proved that did not really matter!
Before I start talking about how things went, big thanks to Brendon Franz for running the event, and Hank Edley for letting us run the show!
War has engulfed the galaxy. The vast forces of the Separatist Alliance, bolstered by seemingly endless ranks of battle droids, have pushed the Galactic Republic to the brink of dissolution and defeat. The Republic’s only hope is its army of elite clone troopers, led into battle by noble, Force-wielding Jedi Knights. The war between them is an epic struggle where every battle could turn the tide and change the fate of the galaxy. Continue reading →
