Historically upgrade cards have teased upcoming releases; i.e. Death Troopers, Bossk.
If this is any precedence then Tauntauns are definitely on their way as they are featured on the recently teased “Endurance” card.
The only logical Imperial counterpart to this would be dewbacks. (If you can think of any others, please let me know in the comments below).
Earlier today the Death Trooper expansion for Star Wars Legion was announced. Much like the Pathfinders expansion, there is an upgrade card with a pip next to a name meaning that this particular upgrade card is for a named character.
After a quick search on Wookieepedia you can find that there is one named Death Trooper from Rogue One.
“DT-5537 was the designation of a humandeath trooper that was part of Unit TI-23. Having undergone advanced training at a camp on Scarif and received classified augmentations, DT-5537 was proficient in demolitions, improvised weaponry, and guerrilla tactics.”

A pair of photos showing box art for a Jyn Erso commander expansion and a Rebel Pathfinders unit expansion was leaked about a week ago. The leaks were met with excitement, and with disbelief. Rogue One content this early in the game’s life cycle? Not possible, some thought. Those images? Easily re-created in Photoshop. Then someone found out that if you were to change a few numerals in a URL on the Fantasy Flight page, you could see the page names for Jyn, the Pathfinders, Orson Krennic and Death Troopers. Then, on Monday, FFG dropped an article previewing Jyn and Pathfinders, making it official.
So, Rogue One is coming to Star Wars: Legion! Amazing! And Jyn Erso, the first commander available from the gritty tale of how the Death Star plans were stolen, looks super exciting. From the wonderful sculpt, to new keywords, to weapon upgrade cards that flip and change modes, this expansion has a lot to offer.

Someone has been doing some detective work and found links for Krennic and the Death Trooper expansions on the FFG site which should be enough to confirm them.
Tabletop Oddity wasn’t the one who find the links but he has an awesome video giving some good evidence that Krennic and the Death Troopers are the next wave after Jyn and the Pathfinders.

“Production on the first Star Wars live-action streaming series has begun! After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.” – starwars.com Continue reading →
